Who's Your Daddy?

Father's Day was yesterday here in the USA. I know this because I was reminded of it late yesterday evening. Gee, fami, thanks for remembering my "special" day! :P

All-in-all it wasn't a bad day. It turned out (by coincidence) to be the very day that we chose at long last to go see Star Wars: Episode III.

I/we had delayed our viewing out of consideration of the fans who might get totally miffed at having a toddler blathering away throughout their personal Star Wars/religious experience (and thus saving them from an extra Darkside point -- or two).

How noble of me/us you say. Why, thank you. I do so appreciate the times when my sacrifices are recognized by others. Makes me feel all warm and tingly inside.

So the plan was to head out to the theater by way of Burger King for a quick, passable lunch… and yet another handful of adorable deform Star Wars toys! Kid's meals all around! Yay!

Pulling in the BK parking lot, what do we spy but a great inflatable visage of the Darth Lord of the Sith himself looming over the rooftop's edge -- Inflatavader!!!

He swayed to and fro in the briny, late morning breeze and seemed to cling to that shingled precipice in desperation: as if struggling against the fatigue of having clawed his broken body up out of a rooftop deep fryer or something.

...Inflatavader! *snicker*

The movie itself was quite enjoyable (for the most part), and I must give a credit to the offspring for being so well behaved. Considering this "final" chapter was almost 2.5 hours long, they did outstanding -- with only occasional delightful outbursts: howling with the Wookies, cheering Yoda on as he whaled on Palpatine's Darkside-pruned butt, and yelling "Aw!" whenever a clone trooper (or a Jedi) fell.

...Inflatavader! lol

For seeing the movie on Father's Day, I received a mini-poster of Darth Vader with the tag line: "Who's Your Daddy?" emblazoned across it. Score! Something else for the collection.

Just one more thing I have in common with his Darthness… MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh and you don't think Darth Vader kept this very poster in his locker on the Deathstar?!

Bet he did.

Did too.

Well now we'll never know because his kid came along and blew it up! :P

Oh yeah?!

Well... INFLATAVADER!!!

Inflatavader both frightens and confuses me, much the effect you yourself have on me, Tacitus.
So when I saw Ep III in Poland, everyone laughed when Darth Vader took his first Darth Vader breath as...well, Darth Vader. It disappointed me actually - while much of the movie was laughable, certainly Darth Vader taking his first breath was not. The laughing Poles kinda ruined it for me. Oh well. Any experiences like that on your side of the world?
