Animals on Parade
Must be Safari Week here or something -- two freakin' animal related posts in a row (if you exclude that whole affair with the laptop. :P)
So! Speaking of opossums, we had a frisky pair of the oversized rodents romping about our back yard last night. They were either just playing hard or getting it on. Kind of hard to tell from the upstairs window. I might have gone to check on things from ground level (not that I have any interest in the mating habits of opossum mind you) had I not been up to my nipples in Defias!
Damn, the lag was bad last night on World of Warcraft, as every WoW junkie flooded the few available servers (including "my" server), while they waited for "their" servers to come back online fresh with the newest update.
Anyway, said opossums noisily romped about for a bit, scuttling among the empty clay pots that sit stacked on the patio, then disappeared into the warm night (for a well deserved smoke break no doubt).
Then this morning when I opened my front door to check the weather, what do I see strolling across my neighbors' yards but a pair of Mallard ducks. I watched them for a good while as they casually waddled down the street (ostensibly toward the water -- some five minutes away on human legs) paralleling the street. I'd have grabbed my camera and snapped a pic of them, but I'd have had to get too close, and they'd probably have flown away on my approach.
So, two opossums, two mallards… hmm… *checks the sky* the weather forecast for today only called for occasional light rain in the morning… no mention or hint of a deluge of biblical proportions.
